Shifting your focus…

I had planned on sending this to you a few days ago…to break the news that I’m ending my Faith & Calling podcast to focus on my work at CARRY Media…and to invite you to a special event in Nashville.

But, that quickly took a back seat after the Covenant School tragedy. I imagine you’ve been wrestling with a lot of emotions this week. Sometimes there are no words and you can’t find an explanation.

One of the toughest aspects has been how to explain this to children. Those conversations are just awful and uncomfortable and beyond comprehension. But, my friend Sissy Goff, a child therapist, so perfectly illustrated in this video how we should lead our children through tragedy. My big takeaway is that we need to be the source, our children need to hear it from us, not from the news or anyone else. We should stay calm and stick to the facts, then let them ask questions…they can naturally lead the conversation. Also, sticking to our routine helps them to feel safe. Sissy has such assuring advice for such a time as this. I encourage you to follow her as we’re navigating the unthinkable.

This community is so important to me and so many of you have been faithful followers of my Faith & Calling podcast…so, you may have heard by now that I’m ending it to focus more on CARRY Media and the work I’m doing for working moms and families. I’m going to be launching some new initiatives later this year and when I do, you’ll hear about it HERE, first. Because you’re my people. Please know I’m not going anywhere, I’m just shifting my focus and giving myself the permission to do so.

Grateful for each and every one of you!
