Join me for an exclusive Q&A tonight!
I have been dropping so many balls, lately…
I went to the wrong location for my son’s golf match.
I sent a very personal text message to my siblings about my mom and not wanting us to fight over her stuff (we’re selling her home as she’s moved into assisted living). Only problem? I accidentally included my mom on the text chain. 🤦🏽♀️
I showed up for an interview…my interviewee never showed up. So, naturally, I fired off a message. Turns out, I had it programmed on the wrong day.
And, I completely forgot about a doctor’s appointment that was in my paper planner and programmed in my phone…an appointment I had made just the day prior.
We’re juggling so much…to the point that we feel like we’re drowning.
But, I’m okay with dropping balls (hey, now…). In fact, I’ve learned to expect and anticipate it on the daily.
A friend of mine encouraged me to keep the glass balls in the air and let the plastic ones drop. I may have actually shared this with you before. But, it’s quite literally been transformative in my life.
👉🏽 First, it gives me permission to be HUMAN. To drop the perfectionism!
👉🏽 Second, it provides a ton of clarity regarding priorities. Which balls are glass and which ones are plastic? You’re gonna drop something, so drop the plastic balls. Plastic bounces. Glass shatters.
(Also, thank God my boys aren’t reading this because they would have made 789 jokes about “balls”, by now.)
So, I want to ask you: which balls are you going to drop today? Give yourself permission…and give yourself grace!
