I'll see you in Nashville!

I’m on my way driving to Nashville right now (keep reading to find out why)...

…BUT PARDON ME WHILE I TRY NOT TO FREAK OUT. I have a teen driver who passed all her tests and is now driving all by herself.

Here’s a photo of Caroline, our 15-year-old, “posing” for her driver's license photo at the DMV this past week.

Not sure how old you were when you got your license (I was 16 in Michigan), but they do things differently here in the South. You’re allowed to get a restricted driver's license at the ripe ol’ age of 15 ½ in South Carolina — which means my kid is now driving by herself, with some limitations.

Crazy, right? But, get this: In South Dakota, you only have to be 14 ½ to drive by yourself with a restricted license.

Jesus Take The Wheel.

I’ve been tracking her EVERY MOVE through a free app I’m loving called Life360. Her first solo trip was to our area Dollar General to pick up some Crisco. (Don’t judge, please. My mother-in-law was visiting last week and needed said ingredient to make her famous cookies.)

Speaking of my mother-in-law…it was spring break last week. And, we did a whole lot of nothing. I honestly can’t remember the last time we weren’t traveling somewhere for spring break. But, it was refreshing to recharge with family at home.

I’m trying to do two things better, right now.

  1. Rest

  2. Reflect

I’m so horribly awful at the first one that I had “Be Still” tattooed on my left wrist as a reminder a few years ago. But, in a season where we’ve been non-stop, I’m reminded that good leaders REST. And, they take time to REFLECT. Please hold me accountable!

Soooo, I’m driving to Nashville right now for a LADIES NIGHT OUT event that I’d love for you to join! It’s at ABLE’s Flagship store on Wednesday from 4-6 p.m. This is a private event and tickets are still available, beginning at $25. What does your ticket get you? GREAT QUESTION! All details can be found HERE. I’d love to see you!

2. John and I have a solid marriage. But, if you ask us our biggest fight, it’s consistently “What’s for dinner?” Neither of us has an interest in cooking and it takes waaaaay too long. If you’re looking to Destress Dinner, check out CARRY’s free guide HERE, which includes a week’s worth of super easy and super quick meals like Chicken Pad Thai and our family favorite, Salsa Chicken Tacos.

3. You know I’m a BIG believer in asking for help and being that help to others, especially new moms. HERE are some great ways you can help new moms, whether you’re a friend, grandparent or partner, courtesy of America’s Favorite Grandma, Babs.
