In partnership with

It’s been too long…so, we have a lot to catch up on.

First of all, I’ve missed you all. But, we’re in South Carolina and have been digging out of the after effects of Hurricane Helene. Needless to say, we weren’t prepared for this. But nothing compares to the heartache in North Carolina where towns have essentially been swept off the map. Two organizations doing incredible work are Convoy of Hope and Samaritan’s Purse. If you feel helpless, like I do, it’s a great way to directly help those who suffered the unthinkable.

Where we are in Upstate South Carolina, almost a half million people are still waiting for power to be restored. Our biggest issues have been downed trees, shredded power lines and no school.

While I wanted to send you all an update last weekend, we had nothing. No power. No internet.

I wasn’t sure I was even going to be able to release my podcast this week (Why Women Are Leaving the Workforce), but I have an incredible team who worked around the obstacles.

Amidst all the chaos and school closures, we had one milestone in our home: our youngest, Landon, got braces this week. He looks like a little man, now. Not sure I’m ready for it.

Sending you lots of love and I’ll leave you with this quote from Mother Teresa, as so many of us have heavy hearts about the hurricane devastation. It’s a reminder that we don’t have to be proximate to help.

“Never worry about numbers. Help one person at a time, and always start with the person nearest you.”- Mother Teresa

The best thing we can do right now is love our neighbor.

FARIS FAVORITES 🤎

1. THE NEW MENOPAUSE BOOK

Because we just wrapped a month-long series on Menopause and Perimenopause, I’m giving away FIVE copies of Dr Mary Claire Haver’s #1 New York Times bestselling book, The New Menopause. If you want a copy, DM me your mailing address and it’s yours! We deserve to feel better and we will!

2. CLOSET SALE

You still have plenty of time to shop my CLOSET SALE, with a portion of my proceeds going to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. These are beautiful clothes I wore during my TV News era that no longer fit my lifestyle (nor my body…and I’m totally okay with that!). And you’re getting them at a fraction of the price. Each item tells a story.

3. #MustSee Family Movie

You’ll find my family and me at the movies this week because WHITE BIRD has been released in theaters! 🎥🍿🎬 Helen Mirren is absolute perfection in this film that’s about the miracle of kindness (a young boy risks his life to save a Jewish girl from the Nazis). Brought to us by the director of A Man Called Otto and Finding Neverland, plus the producers of Jesus Revolution, add this film to your #MustSee Family Movie list!

THE PAULA FARIS SHOW 🎙️

LETS TALK MENOPAUSE: Nutrition, Exercise, and Supportive Partners with Dr. Jen Asthon and my Husband, John

I AM DONE COUNTING CALORIES.  The majority of your questions throughout this series have been about nutrition and exercise, so, let’s talk about how we can best prepare our bodies for this time in our lives, beginning in our 30’s. The pursuit of skinny is killing us. We need to be STRONG.  I somehow convinced my husband John to be part of this conversation–I can’t wait for you to hear his take. It’s important that our partners know what we’re going through and how they can support us.  John and I are joined by a dear friend from my past life in TV News, Dr. Jen Ashton, who recently left ABC News as their Chief Medical Correspondent and has since founded Ajenda, a women’s health company.  She’ll give us tips on how we should move, what we should eat, plus the magic formula to getting our daily protein!

HOT TOPICS: Why Women are Leaving the Workforce with Neha Ruch from Mother Untitled

We’re talking hot topics throughout Season Three of The Paula Faris Show and one of the hottest topics is this: Women are leaving the workplace because it simply doesn’t work for them. 1 in 3 women are planning on “pausing” and nearly half are considering downshifting, to lean into family life.  What’s behind this trend? And, how can we support women throughout their entire journey of kids and career?  I’ve invited Neha Ruch, founder of Mother Untitled, to the conversation to talk about why women are leaving the workforce, plus how we can reframe the way we think and talk about “at-home” parents.  Motherhood Untitled is the leading platform for ambitious women who are leaning into family life. Neha and I have a very honest and spirited conversation about the pros and cons of leaving the workforce and how we can put an end to the #MommyWars.
